Women Empowering Women Mompreneurs
Wow. What a fantastic “week of why” it has been. I’ve put myself out into the universe, made lots of new connections, learned a ton, and had a blast. I’ve gained a newfound sense of self, confidence, clarity, purpose, and passion.
I am a rockstar! I FEEL empowered!
This week, I was uber focused on grounding myself in my why. If you read last week, I’m guessing you’ve realized how critical I think “why” is for any business. For most businesses, the why is super important.
For the best businesses, Why. Is. Everything.
People don’t buy what you do, they buy why you do it. And the best businesses out there know this, and they weave their why into everything and let it serve as their guiding light through times of business darkness.
For me, “why” is about making sure that every action I take is in sync not only with my goals but also with my mission, my vision, my values and my identity.
Throughout the week, as I’ve spoken to more and more people about what I’m doing, I found myself connected to a higher purpose for this business. It’s crazy to say this, but my direction is already evolving a bit from what I thought it was a week ago.
Hey, they said that the Universe moves fast, right?!
So what’s the change? At some point during the week, I came to a realization:
I want to empower other women. Period.
And this is nothing against all the terrific men out there. I’ve worked with several inspirational men throughout my career, and I am married to the most inspiring of them all.
M, you are the best thing that ever happened to me. Thank you for supporting me as I’ve gone full rockstar entrepreneur lately!
As I mentioned in my launch post, the birth of my daughter, E, kicked my entrepreneur ambitions into overdrive. She was the missing piece to the puzzle, the answer to the prayer. You can’t spell GLEAM without E, and I would not be here boldly stepping out into the universe without her.
At first, I was a little nervous about what big brother G might say one day when he learned that the inspiration for Mami’s business was his baby sister. But then I realized how absolutely silly that is.
First of all, I want to raise a man who values, loves and learns from strong women; so what better way than to model that for him through this business. And secondly, you also can’t spell GLEAM without G, and it was his birth that put me on a path towards entrepreneurship, even if it’s only crystallizing now.
So here we are, one week into business and I am thrilled to share that I have an unwavering grasp on my why:
- Create a life I’ve always dreamed of for my family and to inspire my children not to sacrifice or settle, and to be relentless in the pursuit of their dreams.
- Answer a deep, inner calling to utilize my strengths to empower rockstar women entrepreneurs like you so that you can empower more people.
In closing, Happy Mother’s Day to all the Rockstar Moms out there, may you feel loved and empowered on your special day. to my mom, I love you!
